Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra Maria Lara born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. In her early teens she portrayed the lead character in various TV dramas. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated movies featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been involved in numerous important international and national projects throughout her career. One of these is the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
